Olaf B. Johansen, M.D., is a surgeon with and president of Kendrick Regional Center for Colon and Rectal Care. He is board certified in general surgery and colon and rectal surgery.
Dr. Johansen received his medical degree from University of Massachusetts School of Medicine and a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry with honors from the University of Massachusetts. He completed internship and residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and a fellowship with the Department of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Johansen is chief of surgery at St. Francis Hospital – Mooresville (SFH-M), vice president of the medical staff at SFH-M, medical director of endoscopy at SFH-M, president-elect of the 7th district Medical Society (2005-2006). He is a clinical professor of surgery for Indiana University Medical School.
He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, Indiana Medical Society and Indianapolis Medical Society.
Dr. Johansen was named a “top doctor” in colon and rectal surgery in Indianapolis Monthly Magazine in 2002 and 2009. He is an accomplished local, national and international speaker, has had several chapters published in colon and rectal surgery textbooks and has published many papers.
