Frederick R. Lane, M.D., is a surgeon with Kendrick Regional Center for Colon and Rectal Care. He is board certified in general surgery and colon and rectal surgery. He has special interests in laparoscopic colon resection, colonoscopy and colon cancer screening.

Dr. Lane received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in general surgery at Blodgett Memorial Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Mi., and a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Ferguson Clinic in Grand Rapids.

Dr. Lane is a fellow with American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Medical Association, Indiana State Medical Association, Indianapolis Medical Society, Midwest Surgical Association, Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, and Ohio Valley Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.

He is chair of the Surgery Department and medical director of the Surgery Service Line at St. Francis Hospital. He is a member of the board of the Franciscan Surgery Center. He is a proctor for other surgeons and a statewide spokesman for Ethicon Endo Surgery.

He has been recognized as a “top doctor” in Indianapolis Monthly Magazine three times.
