Free wireless Internet access is now available in selected visitor waiting areas and most patient rooms at St. Francis.
Visitors may bring their own laptop computers, PDAs, or other WiFi-capable devices and connect to "guestnet" to browse Web sites, check e-mail, or perform other basic Internet tasks while in our facility.
St. Francis WiFi hot spots include the cafeterias, physician lounges, emergency rooms, nursing stations and most waiting areas. These areas can be identified by signs announcing the service. Just look for signs marked "Wi Fi Accessible."
WiFi access is also available in patient rooms at our Beech Grove and Indianapolis campuses.
As with most public hotspots, guestnet is unsecured and requires you to take measures to protect your computer and personal data – please use it at your own risk.
St. Francis does not provide help desk support, computers, wireless network cards, or other devices to use on guestnet.
This network is compatible with wireless standard IEEE 802.11b/g, although some hardware or software may not be supported.
To use guestnet, you must agree to the following terms and conditions:
- Please use this network at your own risk. St. Francis is not responsible for data loss, viruses, damage to your equipment, or any other problems that occur as a result of using this network.
- We apologize for any inconvenience, but we cannot guarantee any particular level of service, availability, or compatibility with your device.
- Please be courteous to others by turning off sound, using headphones or setting your volume low.
- This is not a secure network. For your protection, we recommend that you not view or send sensitive information, such as financial, personal or proprietary information.
- It is the parent or guardian's responsibility to supervise children in the hospital, including use of this network.
- St. Francis reserves the right to monitor and control access to this network, and will cooperate with authorities as appropriate if questionable or damaging activity occurs.
