Winter Weather Emergency-Procedure - a.k.a. Operation Snowflake

A winter storm watch is in effect from late Thursday through Saturday morning.

Each department supervisor will assess the need for critical personnel and convey those needs to the operator 787-3311 (regardless of campus location). The operator will transfer the call to the established Incident Command. Each Director/Supervisor will provide name of his/her employees requesting assistance for transportation, exact location for pickup and best route of access. Pick-ups are limited to a 10-mile radius of the hospital.

Employees are NOT to contact Engineering directly for transportation requests. Upon arranging transportation, the communicator will call the employee and advise him/her as to the type of vehicle dispatched for their service and its estimated time of arrival. A general log for each department will be maintained during the weather emergency and forwarded to the Safety Office upon conclusion of the emergency.
