Have you ever faced an unexpected financial burden or sudden catastrophe, such as the death of loved one, illness, fire or accident?
The Stitzel Fund, managed by the St. Francis Healthcare Foundation, provides financial assistance to employees who need it most. All St. Francis Hospital & Health Centers employees who have completed the probationary period are eligible to apply for these emergency funds.
Created in 1992 to recognize retired St. Francis President and CEO Paul Stitzel, money distributed through the fund is considered a loan. By employees’ repaying the loan, the Stitzel Fund is continually reimbursed, providing the necessary monies to help others in perpetuity.
Guidelines for Funds:
- Funds are considered a loan and must be repaid to the Foundation.
- Assistance is limited to $500 per year per employee.
- Employees may request funds up to twice per year.
Employees requesting assistance must complete a detailed application, but all information is held in strictest confidence by the committee that administers funds. Spiritual Care Services handles all applications.
