 Building A Hospice House on the
St. Francis Indianapolis Campus
As a part of our mission “to continue Christ's ministry in our Franciscan traditon“, St. Francis Hospital & Health Centers has been providing in-home hospice care for more than 15 years. The St. Francis Hospice House will make it possible for us to extend and deepen holistic end-of-life care in a life-affirming inpatient setting.
The free-standing Hospice House will provide a home-like environment with the most compassionate medical care. The beautifully wooded Hospice House grounds were carefully selected for their natural setting to provide a peacful place for patients and loved ones to relax, reflect and meditate.

- 16-suite facility with room for expansion to 32 suites
- Bright gathering areas, kitchen and dining rooms
- Garden-like landscaping and a chapel for meditation and worship
- Unlimited visitation from loved ones and family members, including the family pet
The St. Francis Healthcare Foundation is in the early stages of the largest and most ambitious initiative since its inception. We are embarking on a major gift campaign that will allow us to build and sustain a free-standing hospice house on our Indianapolis Campus. The Bridge Campaign’s goal is to raise 15 million dollars that will build a home-like setting where families and loved ones can come together during the end of life process.
This 16-bed (expandable to 32-bed) inpatient Hospice House will combine superior palliative care with a comforting, life-affirming environment for individuals nearing end-of-life. It will become the only comprehensive inpatient hospice facility on Indianapolis’ south side and the most conveniently located facility for south-central Indiana residents.
St. Francis cares for each patient’s body mind and spirit through every stage of life-from birth, to lifelong wellness, death and bereavement. You can play a crucial role in this campaign. Your support will enable St. Francis’ clinical staff to provide care and comfort to patients during and through end-of-life care, as well as comfort family members and friends as they care for their dying loved ones
