IRB/Research Services
|
The Research Services Center, located at the Beech Grove campus, helps physicians focus on patients and research results. The Research Services Center provides coordinators who can handle the details of setting up, monitoring and submitting research initiatives.
All research conducted by the St. Francis medical staff must be reviewed and approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB). Approval can be daunting for physicians who are short on staff or resources.
To help with the complex approval process, the Research Services Center provides a coordinator to facilitate the review and handle all correspondence. The coordinator can provide research support services, including:
- Counseling and assistance on preparing budgets for research proposals.
- Securing sponsors.
- Overseeing sponsor inspections and evaluations of research facilities.
- Screening and evaluating patients.
- Obtaining patient consent.
- Staffing the research initiative.
- Overseeing safety and eligibility requirements.
- Facilitating the IRB process.
- Supporting graduate student research initiatives.
