Richard J. Shea, M.D., FACC, FACP

Dr. Richard Shea specializes in echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. He graduated with distinction from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1989. From there he traveled to Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colo., where he completed his internal medicine training and served as chief resident. During his service, Dr. Shea was recognized as the “Most Outstanding Army Physician” by the Surgeon General's office. After his honorable discharge, Dr. Shea completed his fellowship in cardiology at Washington Hospital Center in 1999.
Dr. Shea joined Indiana Heart Physicians in 1999 and is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and echocardiography. His specialties include echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and transesophageal echocardiography.
He was named to Indianapolis Monthly magazine's “Top Doctor's” list in cardiovascular disease in 2009.
