Welcome to St Francis Medical Group!
Whether you are currently an SFMG patient or looking for a new physician, we would like to introduce you to our philosophy of care and invite you to be an active participant in your care.
As a member of the Sisters of St Francis Health Services, Inc., our physicians are committed to our Mission of "Continuing Christ’s Ministry in our Franciscan Tradition." We are first and foremost a ministry organization. The practice of medicine provides each SFMG employee a healing ministry, providing for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our patients. We accept people from all social, economic and medical circumstances. In doing so, we try to follow the example set out for us by Christ and St Francis of Assisi.
As a partner of St Francis Hospitals and Health Centers, our Vision is to "be the premier multispecialty group in Indiana, recognized for excellence in patient-centered service, high quality, cost-effective care and teamwork." This statement helps us keep our focus clear:
- Focus on Patients
– We intend to make patients’ needs the focus of every decision we make. We hope you will help us become the most patient-centered medical practices in Indiana by sending us your thanks, suggestions or concerns. We are also working to assure that every patient receives the most up-to-date, recommended care. It is our responsibility to let you know if there is a recommended lifestyle modification, test, or treatment for you. It is your responsibility to follow through so that we can help you get and stay healthy.
- Focus on Quality – In 2010, we will be installing an electronic health record, which will be shared across all of our practices. This will allow us to provide better care with less duplication of questions, tests and treatments. It will also allow us to measure our performance and demonstrate whether we are following standards and protocols. We plan to display our quality results, so that you too can judge our performance.
- Focus on Teamwork – We are working to become one team of staff, primary care providers, and specialty care providers, working together with our hospitals, to better meet our focus on patients and quality. Please let us know when you experience excellent teamwork so we can recognize our team members for their commitment.
We hope you will become an active participant in your health and allow St Francis Medical Group to serve your needs. Please let our Primary Care Providers care for you and your family as a whole while letting our Specialty Care Providers address individual conditions or concerns that they are especially trained to treat.
